Our Team

Our philosphy

Working with one of us is like working with all of us.

As busy active adults ourselves, we know what it takes, to not just heal our bodies, but to stay well so we can do the things we love to do in life.

All of our recommendations are honest, evidence based, and practical. We’ll never suggest something we wouldn’t try ourselves.

As a team we all share the same philosophy and  we have found that our practice members get the best results  by implementing a collaborative approach to care. Because when more eyes, hands and brains hear your story, you can get an even better game plan to get you where you want to go.

That’s why at Rise, we work as a team. No matter which provider you work with, you’ll get the same experience. And working with all of us will help you get to your goals faster.

CHIROPRACTOR

Dr. Courtney Kincer

I was first introduced to the field of chiropractic when I was in high school. I suffered from chronic low back pain after a volleyball injury. It only took 1 visit with a chiropractor to solidify this profession was meant for me! I am passionate about family wellness and providing a whole body approach to care. I believe everyone deserves individualized care, as not one person is the same.

When I am not in the office, I love spending time outdoors and being with family. Before moving to Columbus, I practiced and lived in Charlotte, North Carolina. While I loved living down south, I wanted to live closer to my sister and my nephew in Findlay, Ohio. Being closer to them and creating my own community in Columbus has been so rewarding. When I have the time, I also enjoy exploring our city, working out, photography, and horseback riding.

Chiropractic has helped me overcome injury and maintain and active & healthy lifestyle. I’m excited to be sharing the success that I’ve had with chiropractic and that I’ve helped countless others experience with you and your family too!

I’ve known since the fourth grade that I wanted to become a doctor. But over time, my vision of what type of doctor I would become has changed.

During my first year of college, I was the sickest I’ve ever been. I was diagnosed with Mono, then CMV, and several other diagnoses followed that. After a year or more of taking round-the-clock medications, I knew this way of living wasn’t for me. I wanted to be healthy, and feel like a vibrant, energetic 20-year-old and being constantly sick, in pain, and run down prevented me from doing so.

I took my interest in the human body, health, and science, and discovered chiropractic. A profession that believes in treating the cause, rather than the symptoms; values prevention and wellness; truly cares about the wellbeing of its patients, and can help anyone no matter the season of life they’re in.

Over the years I have experienced the incredible benefits that chiropractic has offered to my life such as managing my low back pain caused by my scoliosis, no longer needed my inhaler for asthma, overall feeling healthier, more energetic, having fewer injuries, and living a life that is more in-tune with who I am.

I have had the honor of sharing successes like those with many others over the years and it is my passion to help people like you reach whatever health goals you may have so you can live and function at your best too.

OWNER, DIETITAN

Jay Short, MS, RD, CSSD

What really sparked my interest in nutrition was my personal experiences as an athlete. My senior year of high school athletics was hampered due to injuries ranging from an abdominal tear to a strained tricep. Looking back, it was apparent that I wasn’t fueling myself nearly enough to keep up with my training. This was my first real experience of how impactful nutrition can be on overall health, performance, and recovery. Now I’m helping my clients to fuel properly to achieve their goals and avoid the same setbacks that I experienced.

My career in nutrition began while I was in college and volunteered with The Ohio State University sports nutrition department for six years throughout undergraduate and graduate school. Immediately after graduate school, I worked as a research dietitian at The Ohio State University studying the impact of various diet strategies on performance and helping publish several papers. During this time, I received the opportunity to join the Columbus Crew SC and eventually become their first ever full-time dietitian which was capped off with winning the 2020 MLS Cup Championship. I continue to stay involved in the sports community and I am currently the consulting dietitian for the United States Men’s National Soccer Team and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Outside of my time consulting with elite athletes, I get to work alongside my wife, Dr. Nicole, to fulfill our dream of bringing health, wellness, and performance services to the families in our community. I love being able to use the same systems I have used with elite athletes over the years to help you reach your goals through Rise Nutrition’s 1:1 nutrition coaching programs.
